This year, my wife and I visited my parents in central New York.
It’s cold up there. Really, REALLY cold. So cold that breathing was enough to freeze the snot in my nose, turning it into mini icicles.
One day, the overnight temperature was 0 degrees, with windchill pushing it negative.
I can’t imagine the heating bill for my folks but I remember plenty of $300 bills when I lived there.
More:
I apparently brought the cold weather with me back to North Carolina. For days and days on end it was single digits.
Fortunately, we have a wood stove and lots and lots of wood.
Which brings me to this mornings headlines…
Seems New York is suing 5 major oil companies for contributing to “global warming”.
El major is so proud of his little shtick and hopes other states will follow suit.
It almost doesn’t matter how this shakes out… I predict higher heating bills next year because of it.
And… maybe higher cooling bills this summer or next.
Moving right along….
You can’t fight City Hall (OK, you CAN but mostly it’s rowing upstream without a paddle) but you can stock up for the winter (and summer) by socking away more of the green stuff.
