Some folks are just not a good fit for my insurance planning services. But that doesn’t mean they’re hopeless or stupid.
Here’s what I mean:
Every so often, someone will approach me and ask me to help them save money… and they have like $50 a month or something.
That’s just not going to cut it.
I remember a lady asking me once about this exact thing… she was living partially on social security. And she had a part time job but was barely making rent.
She was a real sweetheart though. Nicest lady you could ever have the pleasure of sitting down with.
Did she need me breathing down her neck about saving money trough insurance?
Hellz no.
I mean, sometimes the problem is people aren’t serious about saving and they come up with every excuse in the book not to.
But sometimes it’s because people are dead-broke.
They don’t make a lot of money or are between jobs or something.
Anyway, I usually tell these folks they should START with an IDA.
NOT an IRA (retirement account) but an IDA.
What, pray tell, is an IDA?
It’s an Individual Development Account.
They’re offered by some banks and credit unions as a way to help poor people save money.
For every $1 you deposit into this special savings account, the bank matches you $0.50, $1, $2… I’ve seen them go as high as $4.
What’s the catch?
You have to meet strict income thresholds.
If you make $30,000 a year, you don’t qualify, for example. You just have to buckle down and make priorities. No one can “kick you in the butt”. You have to kick yourself in the butt.
But if you don’t make much to begin with, these savings accounts give you a jumpstart.
All you have to do is ask the bank about them.
Why do I mention this?
Because it’s one of those things that’s hiding in plain sight. It’s right there.
I mean… it’s RIGHT THERE.
But most people are totally unaware of this amazing tool.
Same with life insurance.
It’s RIGHT THERE.
Been there for over 150 years in America, and yet so many people are totally unaware of what it is or how to really make full use of it.
OK, enough of my yammering. If you are serious about saving and want to kick things up a notch from where you are right now, here’s what my life insurance planning service can do for you:
