The Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation is a a professional designation awarded to financial professionals by the American College who pass a series of exams pertaining to insurance, investments, employee benefit plans, estate planning, accounting, taxation, and economics. The focus on the designation, however, is life insurance and estate planning.
It is considered one of the original, and one of the most respected, designations in the life insurance and financial planning industry.
