Low-pain saving

Let’s rap about budgeting and making sacrifices.

Ever since I was a wee lad, my pop taught me that life was supposed to be miserable and then… you died.

Nice, huh?

More:

Most everyone I asked about budgeting throughout my late teens and into my 20s didn’t really know how to do it and didn’t have any good advice.

The advice I DID get consisted of stuff like, “Make sacrifices and save some money” or “spend less than you earn.”

All very helpful I’m sure… just like “eat less” is great dieting advice.

But seriously, conventional approaches to saving munny involve making sacrifices and getting yourself over a mental hurdle that most people find difficult or impossible.

Tis why the savings rate in this country is so low.

No one wants to make sacrifices to save.

Which is why my methods don’t rely on making sacrifices.

I’m not going to say it’s pain-free but it IS a low-pain way of saving money that doesn’t require you to do tedious and annoying things like tracking expenses or cutting out your morning latte.
