Yes it’s annoying, and no it shouldn’t be in there, but some email providers are overzealous “helicopter parents” when it comes to emails…so you just have to “set them straight” by adding my email to your contact list:
david (at) monegenix (dot) com
Yes, this is my real email and yes if you send something to me I will personally read it. I may not always be able to respond (though usually I do), but I always read every piece of email that crosses my virtual desk.
Anywho…once you click that link in the confirmation email, we can get this party started.
See you in your inbox,
P.S. I’ve noticed some people don’t seem to be getting my emails and it’s because they’ve been auto-unsubscribed from my list. Here’s what’s happening and how to prevent it from happening to you.
If your email provider isn’t allowing images to be displayed in your email, then you may inadvertently be unsubscribed from my list (more on that in a moment). Anyway, you have a few options to stay on my list:
- “Whitelist” me by adding my email (david (at) monegenix (dot) com) to your contacts list (that way, we’ll be best buds and all my emails will get through to you). That MIGHT do the trick.
- Enable images for the emails I send you.
Enabling images in emails I send you will definitely work because my email program uses pixels (which are teeny-tiny images embedded into every email) to keep track of who is reading my emails.
Whoah. Yes, email tracking. Scary stuff, right?
Well, no. Not really. It’s not as creepy as it sounds, and I’m not tracking your every move. Why do I track emails? Well, it’s very simple really. I track when you open an email from me because I DON’T want to spam people or bug them if they don’t want to hear from me.
So, I keep track of people who are reading. If people don’t read, I unsubscribe them so they aren’t bothered by me and I don’t get erroneous spam complaints. It’s the best way I can think of to create a “win-win” scenario.
After a while, if the email program doesn’t see you opening my emails, it puts you on a “cold” list and you’re eventually automatically unsubscribed. So…to prevent this from happening, I need you to help me to help you by allowing images and tracking to be displayed in emails I send you. I don’t really send images in emails other than the pixel.
Does that make sense?
I hope so.
