Do you remember watching the old Japanese anime cartoon, Voltron? The one where the robot lions got together to form a super robot called Voltron…
What a cool show. You remember how every episode they tried to beat the bad guys using the individual lions.
They always failed. Why? Well…because individually those lions were tough but not tough enough. They always needed to combine forces, form Voltron and whoop arse with that blazing sword.
Lots of planners out there will sell you investments…insurance…a paper and ink plan…
…but that’s all they do. Sell you stuff. It’s like their plans are nothing more than a bunch of products. When I was first starting out in this business, it’s something I picked up on right away.
I remember asking my boss why we didn’t do “obvious” stuff like help people do a better job budgeting. His response? “They can figure that out on their own.”
…except almost no one I know does a great job of it. They use financial aggregation apps like…well…I won’t name names but you’d instantly recognize them if I did…
…or worse…they don’t use anything at all.
…and when I ask these people, “…so how much are you saving?” I get answers like “oh, 5%” or “We’re saving a LOT — 15% of our income.”
…or dead silence because they’re not saving anything.
Hate to break it to you…if you’re not saving at least 20-25%, you’ll never get enough “lift” to get off the ground. You’ll probably always have to use debt and pay someone else interest for stuff you buy…
None of the financial planners I’ve ever met…at conventions…who’ve called me on the phone trying to pry secrets out of me…who’ve been referred to me by my old mentor and coach…really help their clients simplify their finances…
In fact, they often do the opposite so they can keep collecting fees and commissions. They don’t integrate budgeting with savings and savings with investing and investing with total money management.
In other words, few planners “form Voltron.”
Financial products are good and all…but alone they mean nothing.
If you want to form Voltron, you need full integration. My planning services help you do that, and at a cost even the panhandlers down the street could afford. Learn more here:
